This morning I received an email from the PTA that read:

Teacher Appreciation Week is Monday, May 6th – Friday, May 10th.
Here are the daily themes for this year’s event:
Monday: Bring something PURPLE for your teacher.
Tuesday: Bring something to help your teacher de-stress and relax.
Wednesday: Bring a personal note of appreciation for your teacher.
Thursday: Bring your teacher a yummy snack!
Friday: Bring a flower to surprise your teacher.[xt_divider]
My first thought was this week was also my birthday, Kylie’s birthday, Mother’s Day, and our first family camping trip. Not to mention, Kylie’s class is celebrating the last 26 days of school with a special activity dictated by that day’s letter of the alphabet. Tuesday happens to be F for fingerfood.
It’s a lot. I could say a simple card would do but really, Ky’s teacher is incredible. She completely deserves every day on the list and I fully intend to comply.
I read the list again. I then read the list to Will who reminded me I could do something simple like on Tuesday, bring her a cup of coffee and on Thursday, bring her a donut. I wasn’t too sure about the coffee idea but clearly, I was over thinking it. Finally, I asked Kylie what she would like to do to make her teacher feel special. Her response? “Tonight, I’d like to make her a purple flower with a green stem.” Simple but perfect.
I’m still mulling it over but I would love to know, how are you honoring your teachers this week?

Please tell me that they gave you an appropriate amount of time to prepare for this detailed list. These are the types of things that stress me out when thinking of ever having kids.

I think we got a letter in their Friday folder and an email the Saturday before. So, 2 or 3 days notice.
