Arts & Crafts

I read somewhere that often times artists have a hidden art talent. I write and cook.  Occasionally I draw but that’s mainly for me. It’s not broadcasted anywhere that Erin draws. I just periodically feel like tearing through my garage to pick up a sketch pad.

A few months ago, I discovered Pinterest and became an addict. Suddenly I felt the need to make absolutely everything myself. I even managed to have almost an entirely homemade Christmas, Can you believe it? Ornaments and all.

At any rate, I eventually became inspired by several liked paintings in on the site and began to wonder if I could actually do that. Unfortunately there is not online aptitude test for oil paint. When my parents inquired what to get me for Christmas, I suggested known supplies.Of course to paint, you need paint, canvases, brushes and a pallet.

I smiled to myself as I pictured my bare walls covered in framed works I made myself. I would start today! Today is the last day of the rest of your life. That is until I read the back of the box. Apparently you need to thin the paint to use it and it does not dissolve in water. Hmm.

Well, in less than 1 week I will be filling our walls with original works and I’m excited!

I can’t wait to see what you create. I have a few ideas brewing in my head of what I want to paint. I need to get on that!
